There are a few things you should be aware of if you re going to attempt your own recovery of a wd my cloud with a red light. It is formatted ext4 which is a linux filesystem the os. During shut down and power up the light blinks blue as normal. I have nothing new on my system so nothing was added when i got up just like i said all of a sudden now i have a red light its not flashing.

The manual lists indications for a blinking red light but nothing about a solid red light. I tried to reboot device after reboot led was solid blue but 2 min after it turned solid red again. I was so frustrated. Wd my cloud ex2 dashboard 12 tb with two hard drives each hard drive is 6 tb but i have it set up as raid 1.

My whole life is on the my cloud. I just have a red light. The drive temps have gone up a bit reaching 40c. I tried resetting using the reset button at the back turning the power on and off disconnecting from the router etc but nothing seems to work.

After 8 days uptime with my ex2100 i am getting a solid red light on the power button. Power led is solid red firmware 2 10 302 my cloud ex2 hey guys i just updated my firmware related or not my power led is solid red. I didn t think that is was such a big deal however after trying to get it to connect through wifi several times for about 6 hours i couldn t get it working. So one day i woke up and realized that my my cloud 3 tb was glowing all red in the front.

The filesystem is not ntfs fat hfs or any of the others that your typical data recovery software is going to support. The control panel reports everything as healthy.
